Course Overview

This course presents an overview of suicide including risk factors, signs, and symptoms. We will also present current statistics related to suicide. We will provide a brief discussion of certain mental illnesses that have suicide risks associated with them. Included in the discussion are special considerations given to populations where suicide risks are even greater - teens and veterans. The history of suicide prevention is discussed with the most current revision of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
